EMOM Workouts is a calisthenics training app for Android phones, with a companion app for Wear OS watches. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes.

The short version

What the app stores on your device

To run your program, the app keeps the following on your phone:

We never receive this data. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Where your data can go, and only if you choose

Android backup. If backup is turned on for your Google account in your phone's settings, Android may include your training progress in your device backup and restore it on a new phone. This is a feature of Android and your Google account, not of EMOM Workouts. The app limits the backup to your training progress. Google's privacy policy applies to these backups. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.

A backup file you choose. If you turn on "Automatic backup file" in Settings, the app keeps a copy of your data in a file at a location you choose, such as Google Drive or a folder on your phone. The storage provider you pick handles that file under its own terms. You can turn this off in Settings, and you can delete the file at any time.

Export. If you export your data, the app creates a file containing it and hands it to the app or location you choose.

Health Connect. If you turn on Health Connect in Settings and grant access, the app writes each finished training session to Health Connect on your phone as an exercise session: its start and end time, the training day's name, and the number of rounds for circuit (AMRAP) days. EMOM Workouts only writes this one type of data. It never reads anything from Health Connect. Other apps can see these workouts only if you give them access in Health Connect. You can turn this off in Settings or revoke access in Health Connect. Workouts already written stay in Health Connect until you delete them there.

EMOM Workouts's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. EMOM Workouts receives no information from Health Connect.

Your Wear OS watch. If you install the watch app, your phone sends the session you're running to your own paired watch while it's in progress: the exercise names, amounts and timing. The watch sends back only pause, resume and skip commands. This goes directly between your devices through Google Play services. Nothing is stored on the watch after the session ends.

Sharing. When you tap Share, for example to send the app to a friend or share your cycle results, the app opens your phone's share menu with the text or image shown. You choose whether and where to send it.

Exercise videos. The "watch a video" link opens a YouTube search in your browser or the YouTube app. From that point, YouTube's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Permissions the app uses

Alarms and reminders (exact alarms), run at startupSo reminders arrive on time and survive a restart of your phone.
Foreground service, keep awakeSo the session timer keeps beeping (or the watch keeps vibrating) when the screen is off.
Vibration (watch)To mark each interval on your wrist.
Health Connect: write exerciseOnly if you turn on Health Connect sync.

Children

EMOM Workouts is not directed at children under 13. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If what the app collects or shares changes, we'll update this policy and the effective date above before the change reaches the app.
